The Pamirs
The Pamirs. An giant ancient Asian range that holds some of the biggest and most glaciated mountains in the world. These mountains have been at the cnter of soviet mountaineering history, stretching from China, to Tajikistan, and ending in Kyrgyzstan. This image, taken at 20,500ft on Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan by Ronnie Forslund on his summit push captivates what it looks like to stand with a birds eye view of the Pamirs and yet feel so small amidst their vast scale. His expedition, which ended with a successful summit on the 23,406ft Lenin Peak has been one of the most fond memories for Ronnie, as these moments of beauty and adventure from high up in the Pamirs are unlike any he has ever seen or experienced.
