Lenin Peak - The Pamir Giant
Lenin Peak is one of the highest mountain in the former soviet union. Its significance comes from its massive glaciated slopes that fall right into the great plains to the north, creating a stark contrast of geology and climate. Ronnie Forslund was directing a film project at Lenin Peak in the summer of 2025, and captured this shot of a sub-peak on Lenin rising right from the freshly blanketed Lenin glacier, with 3 climbers with full packs heading into down the highway that leads to the Lenin Ice Fall. The pursuit of beauty and adventure is ever present in this image, and represents bravery, destiny, and a desire to explore the world up high.
